Was that the opening date of the Fanueil Hall location? AFAIK, they've been slinging T shirts at the main location since the show was on.

"In 2002, the Bull & Finch Pub was officially renamed "Cheers Beacon Hill".

Between August 2001 and August 2020, there was a branch location, Cheers Faneuil Hall, in Faneuil Hall."

Yeah. I got a Cheers shot glass there in the mid 80s.

Plus lots of competition now since the Hub on Causeway opened last year...not sure how much of its eateries are paused or even open now, though.

We had a few drinks, snacks, there as a tourist, many years ago. It is sad to see so many places closing, all over.

Here in a busy North Quincy intersection, I strolled into a pizza shop to buy slices at 3 pm last week.

None available. Hmm....well, they explained that business is slow, so they no longer keep slices in the display case.

If $2.50 slices aren't selling enough, then what hope is there?

Definitely!

We often go to these spots not just for the food and drink, but for the socialization, camaraderie and perhaps even live music.

Memories...and we sometimes recall decades later eating and drinking at these places for various personal reasons. So it was often money well spent.

Dan Shaugnessy of the Boston Globe sports section did a story on it the other day due to its proximity to TD Garden and all of the memories alongside the games.
