Target has been out of random stuff lately. No tofu, sour cream, or frozen chicken tenders - and lots of frozen stuff missing in general.

The cream cheese thing is one that can actually be explained: https://www.cnn.com/2021/12/18/busin...ods/index.html It's still the ripple effect of a cyber attack before Christmas.

Right I already posted two articles from cnn and Newsweek pointing out the cream cheese issues. Thanks though.

The weird thing is, I keep hearing about this cream cheese shortage, but literally, every store I've been in that regularly sells cream cheese has had cream cheese in stock. That is one item I've had no trouble obtaining.

The stop and shop near me never has it. None. As I mentioned it’s not important enough to me to go somewhere else to get it. But it’s a pretty basic food so for a place like stop and shop to not have it for months is pretty odd.

Funnily enough, I just bought store-brand cream cheese at Market Basket, and they had plenty, but only the small containers. I really wanted the bigger one. Is it what toilet paper was the year before last?

It's strange. The shortages seem to be random, and brief--you frown when your favorite item isn't there, and then you go back a couple of days later and there's a full shelf of it. I wonder where the holdups actually are.

I don't eat cream cheese. What do you guys do with it? Put it on bagels?

Yes. Mainly my kids liked it on a bagel. They don’t seem to miss it either. I would also use it if I were making a cream sauce to make it cheesier or something on occasion.

I probably buy it once a year on Thanksgiving, goes with a certain sauce.

Bagels, make cheesecake, some casserole recipes require it.

It's often an ingredient in dips.

If you've never mixed cream cheese with salsa and dipped chips in it you don't know what you're missing.

I'm kind of surprised to be explaining what cream cheese is used for, lol
