I don't recall discussing my own personal budget in this context and you have no knowledge of my personal finances. And I don't really care what doesn't trouble you.

Yes, some people hear only what they want to hear. That's partly why we're in this mess. I've watched the top three leaders of this country's recent public statements on Ukraine, the economy and other serious issues and was absolutely horrified. They are leading the free world? omg At least Joe has yet to resist his war monger friends call for a no fly zone. Time will tell how long he will withstand them or if even he's making the decisions.

As off topic as we are getting, my approach to this is the same as $4 gas. Rapid inflation, inept administration, blah blah blah...it's been in the making for an entire generation or more. Not a single thing going on right now should come as a surprise to anyone paying attention during the past 20 years, these are just the aftereffects/symptoms of our long enduring failures that are suddenly trickling down to Joe Schmo and taking the uninformed by surprise. The time to get angry was long ago, there's really no point anymore. It's mostly a lost cause, I'm afraid.

I tend to agree but it doesn't need to be a lost cause. Unfortunately some painful economic times may be necessary to educate people to the realities of the world. And they are coming.

It's like every station raises them at once, regardless.
My theory for that is that these gas stations don't get their deliveries at the same time. SO when one station gets a delivery they have to raise prices to cover the cost of the more expensive fuel. The other local stations don't immediately need to raise their prices but do so because they want to squeeze in a little profit. They follow the other stations up, but want to stay lower to steal business.

If one station off an exit of a highway is $4.00, and another station can sell at $3.50 to cover a previous delivery, they likely figure they can bump their price to $3.95 and still take business away from the station that has to sell at $4. Most folks aren't going to get back on the highway to drive down an exist to save 10 cents/gal. Cha ching

At least that's my theory.

Stopped by to remember the good ol' days when gas was only $4 a gallon.
