There are a lot of instagram influencer wannabes.
Yes. I'm even seeing the female scientists who used to be nerdy types with glasses getting all glammed up.

I don't have anything against botoxes, fillers, whatever someone wants to get done if it makes them feel more positive about themselves. It's just that there's a fine line between an improvement/enhancement and ridiculousness. If you start thinking to yourself gee, how much work did that person have done right when you see them, that to me is a problem!

I guess I thought females were getting past the point of needing to do all these things to the extreme but I guess not. Seems to be getting worse

I don't find that attractive at all, but apparently some must.

At this point I lost track on who said what, but I recall a few here getting super amped up and defensive when it got mentioned a house in Duxbury selling for <$400K, while also suggesting that is seemed on par for the time. I guess we're only allowed to discuss Duxbury if it involves million dollar homes?

No, it just makes them more expensive.

It makes those towns a bit less diverse too. Only the ultra wealthy or sports stars can afford to live there. Then it becomes a scenario of who has the latest Range Rover Buckingham Palace edition parked in front of their 4 car garage or the most impressive outdoor kitchen.

Redplum said a particular house sold for that in 2019 but he made it sound like that was the case for the majority of homes in Duxbury. That would be nice but hardly the case. There were plenty of homes selling for under 1M in 2019 but 390k was definitely not the norm.

And then they hang those rainbow flags and put everyone's welcome here signs on their lawn

I also pointed out a few weeks back that "affordable SFH" are coming to Duxbury soon too. There will be a sprinkling of ~$500K homes in new developments for certain income levels. I suppose adjusted for inflation these ~$500K homes are what that $390K one was back in 2019. Certainly not the norm, but there are some in the mix.
