I'm sure there are people in marshfield who would rather be there than in needham and think marshfield is better than Wellesley. And that's ok.
I don't want anyone to feel less than.

I'm not the one being overly sensitive.

I didn't slam Duxbury.

I never mentioned Hingham, and I also didn't bring up the W towns.

I don't have any problem with Duxbury.

I never said 390k was the norm for Duxbury in 2019. Matrix claimed I said that...and he put those wrong ideas in your head. Go back and you'll see that Matrix fabricated that.

Don't blame this on me dude. All I said was 385k wasn't the going rate in Duxbury and then you went and argued for 4 pages about it. Then you posted a bunch of sold homes that were way more than 385k.

You're entirely to blame for ALL of this.

I was talking about one house. I said that one particular house sold for the going rate at the time. The going rate for a small house that needed a ton of work. That house has since been completely renovated and expanded. What you see in the 2023 listing is nothing like it was in 2019 when it sold for 385k.

You twisted my comment, got msRB all crazy, and chaos ensued.

And I posted a list of 2019 Duxbury sales in response to your comment that your friend couldn't find a house in Duxbury in 2019 with a 700-800k budget. The list clearly showed that your friend had PLENTY of houses to choose from within (and below) her budget.

You're the one that argued for 4 pages, not me. Own up to it, don't blame others.

You deliberately twisted everything because you couldn't (and still can't) admit you were wrong about the value of that small house in 2019 as well as your friend being unable to find a house in Duxbury in 2019 with a 700-800k budget.

Trying to turn this on me is nothing short of cowardly.

My exact quote "385k in Duxbury in 2019 must have been a private sale or foreclosure? There's no way that was the going rate for a house there."

I didn't twist anything, what are you talking about? Don't blame me for your actions. You're the one that argued for 4 pages during a holiday weekend, not me.

This forum is so weird.

They were always a big deal difference being you had $100K homes in normal towns versus $300K homes in those towns,

Must be nice to buy a house for 100k or 300k back then!

My father - who hasn't lived in Massachusetts since 1990 - asked me recently with not a hint of irony why I didn't just buy in Somerville because it was cheaper and it will be a few years before I need to worry about schools. I sent him a few Zillow listings and he could not believe what it cost to live in "Slummerville".
