Corky's...blah

Rendezvous is better than most places in other cities, has a cool atmosphere. But, by Memphis BBQ standards it is OK. Central BBQ is the best in the world possibly. Yes I am being serious.

Interstate and Showboat have great sandwiches. BBQ Shop is also very good as is A&R. Honestly there are so many, but Central is easily the best. You could eat there for two days and have different items from the menu. But if you go to Central, GET THE WINGS too...

I'm a fan of Germantown Commissary (love the chicken) and One & Only BBQ (love the baked beans and pulled pork). These are both out east. If you really want a "hole in the wall" experience close to downtown, check out Cozy Corner. Their ribs are superb! The BBQ spaghetti is too weird for me, but I'm not a native Memphian so I probably need to give it another chance

I've only been to Central once - got pulled pork and it wasn't that great. Too dry and not much flavor. Maybe I should try the wings next time.

Central Barbecue is just like the barbecue where I'm from (East Tennessee), so for me, while it's good, it's just "good." If you like saucy barbecue, definitely visit. You won't get bad food.

I love Rendezvous, but I only have ever tried the ribs. I prefer dry so I can taste the meat, and I like their unique weird slaw. The beans are okay.

I second the Cozy Corner recommendation, it's up on North Parkway near Danny Thomas. And there's a place around Lamar/McLean intersection (a couple blocks west, maybe? Can't quite place it) that I have eaten at. It was a pretty good, hole in the wall-type place too.

I don't like Cozy Corner. To bland for me, but what I have noticed is if someone likes Cozy Corner then Central isn't very good and if they like Central they don't like Cozy Corner.

Commissary is also good, forgot about that one. There is a place in Southaven called Memphis BBQ Company. It is supposed to be pretty good.

Central BBQ and never look back. Also, make sure you at least get a small order of BBQ nachos to sample (we often get it as our meal!). Very unique to the area and absurdly awesome.

Central or its twin downtown (forgot its name); I've heard good things about Tops; Three Little Pigs may be a little too obscure but I love their pulled pork.

You should also try out Gus's downtown for fried chicken.

Did you not eat the dry ribs at Central?

Downtown location is also called Central BBQ. Just got back - awesome as always. Also, good call on Gus's. Best chicken possibly in the world (have no facts behind this but I just can't fathom how you'd beat it).
