Do Bermudians like British Virgin Islanders? Do all Australians like the British? Should all Canadians like Americans?

(North) Americans can sometimes be extremely ignorant on the diversity of the hispanic peoples - there is not even a 'hispanic race' as many believe. As for stereotypes, everybody has them on all other nationalities, the only difference is in Latin America these opiniones are not stifled by political correctness - people voice them openly. In the US people think them, but dare not voice them...
why does it have to be a jamaican and irishman? why cant it be between swedish and danish. lol

Most asian youtubers say this too. Many of them are korean and japanese, and make blogs about how everyone calls them chinese. Its the same everywhere you go. Mexicans look down on cubans, salvadoreans. Meanwhile Cuban Americans and Salvadoreans Americans look down on Mexicans.

What Geo Freak said. I'm Argentinian, and nothing against Mexicans - but it's just a very ignorant assumption worthy of an eye roll for people to immediately assume that just because I am Hispanic I am Mexican. It's like the go-to Latino ethnicity.

It's the same as Aussie folk becoming offended that you said, "OMG you're from England?" Not that they necessarily dislike the English, but it's a dig at their individuality and lack of recognition for their culture.

Lmaoo this reminds me of "Sh*t White Girls Say to Latinas" ...

"OMG her last name is Garcia too..are you related?!"
"You're gonna love this guy...his name is Juan..."
"His name is Jose...you probably know him."

Ohh my. Haven't watched this in a long time, dying after watching it again

Why assume that a person has to know where you come nationality only for your looks or language?

In any case introduce yourself as from Argentina and end the problem.

For the OP:
When a Mexican vacation in El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica or any other Central American country is generally well treated.

Maybe there is some resentment from some minority, those things happen, but can not generalize that all Mexicans hate Salvadorians and vice versa.

Because Jamaicans and Irish people speak the same language - Swedes and Danes don't (who knew, eh?)

Mexguy, I'm from Puerto Rico and we generally get along with other latinos. Sometimes we have problems with Dominicans because many of them are illegal aliens, but I'd say that latinos in the mainland US tend to compete with each other for jobs and resources, and so have more rivalry than back in Latin America. The OP is most likely American and looking at things through the gringo lens.

None of the central American countries like Mexico because Mexico looks down on those tiny countries.

Raised in New York. You said it. You're more American than you are Salvadorian. You're looking at things through a New Yorker's lens. What you see in New York is not what you see in Puerto Rico, Mexico, El Salvador, etc. 99% of the Puerto Ricans you see in New York are not the same as the ones in Puerto Rico
