I found that many people in South Florida are paranoid due to the intensive coverage of the media of every little crime in the city. Radios are even worse.

Can you list the things that are so " over exaggerated" or "overboard" for me? Obviously the crime isn't exaggerated as Forbes just ranked Miami-Dade #3. The bad drivers is also not over exaggerated as we have been ranked the last few years as having the worst drivers.

I guess it depends who you are, if you're a middle-aged white person who moves to little havana, I could see why you would EXTEREMELY overexagerate and hate it. But I guess because my parents are from the Carribean(Haiti) and because I was born in West Palm, that it makes me more TOLERANT of the city. I can TOTALLY see some young person moving from NYC to MIA and hating it. But I can easily see somone who LOVES miami and moving to NYC, BOS, SF, or whatever and hating those cities also. Miami isnt TOO bad of a city like people on C-D make it out to be, BUT at the same token I can see why they hate it. BUT the ONLY MAJOR problem I have is whan people OVEREXAGERRATE how terrible Miami is, when they do that, that's when I get a little angry. No one really tells the WHOLE truth, just the negatives. And personally the only thing as bad as the media portraying Miami as PARADISE, is people on portraying Miami as HELL ON EARTH, or, a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY on C-D.

I think you know the answer to this, if they wanted to live in the boonies they wouldn't be living in Miami.

Just wait until the "chicken and rice riots" start once things get really hairy in Miami. This will certainly happen after a Cat 4 or 5 hurricane sweeps Miami and destroys most of its infrastructure. They will be stompin' fo chicken and rice and expecting the federal government to come save them just like in New Orleans.

Cuba Libre

I was a witness of the last Miami riot.
More that 20 deaths.
Not a single Hispanic massacring people or asking for chicken and rice.

- Top 5 cities with the most obnoxious people
- Top 5 narcissistic cities
- Top 5 cities with the highest rate of murder-suicides
- Top 5 cities where you don't even have to know English to get by
- Top 5 "ugly" cities
- Top 5 "dumbest" cities in the US
- Top 5 overdeveloped US cities
- Top 5 most vain/superficial cities in the US
Don't you think THIS is just a little overexagerrated. As if Miami is the ONLY city with superficial and obnoxious people, as if being obnoxious and superficial is ONLY a Miami thing, rather then a HUMAN thing. And I even said I CAN understand why somone may not like Miami, I understand why YOU dont like it. It makes alot of sense to me, my thing is when people OVEREXAERRATE things and paint everyone like a 3rd world criminal. As if all the 2.5million people that live in Dade County are illegals and drug dealers like this is some kind of scarface movie. But if you dont like Miami I completely understand. Im not saying you went overboard

Are you sure, because when hurricane Andrew came through, the crime wasnt nearly as bad as New Orleans when Katrina came through.

Lately, Miami seems to have made pretty much all of the top 5/10 "worst" lists conducted in the United States (worst drivers, highest rate of foreclosures, worst crime, least charitable, most miserable, etc, etc). You can wear your rose tinted spectacles and deny the problems here exist all you like, but there's a whole ton of evidence out there to suggest that Miami SUCKS, period.

The problem boils down to the culture here...or lack thereof. Miami has a larger than average population of self-centered, narcissistic, combustible idiots who are more prone than most to doing something completely stupid and reckless.

Luckily, my wife have been saving and saving and we should be able to move by this time next year. When I leave, I swear, I will never return to Miami.

Couldnt agree more.

I dont think it's over-exaggerated at all. I say Miami is in the top 5 for all of these issues EASILY.
