i've got the possibility through my work to relocate to america and was thinking Miami. how good is it?

i've only ever been to Texas and never been in employment. as such i need to know the low down on the city and how much i would need to earn per year/ month to enjoy living in the city. bearing in mind i am a 26 year old single male who would be looking to party when possible.

what can i expect in terms of costs and then expendable income per month?

many thanks

It really depends on where you want to live? Certain parts of Miami are more expensive or less expensive to live. Where is Miami is the job located, this would better help us help you? How much will you be making?

Has your visa been taken care of? Otherwise you may make plans, arrive in FL and face a problem.

Try this: PaycheckCity.com | Paycheck Calculator
Make sure to put that you're going to be living in Florida; it is pre-set to New York.

Again, another company bringing in someone from outside Miami instead of hiring locals. Perhaps Miami residents are simply not good enough for these companies? I agree with the statement above. you will need at least 60K per year since rent on a decent place would be at least 2K per month.

Rent on many luxury two-bedroom apartments in South Beach and Brickell is $2,000/month. I have a friend who rents a nice two-bedroom unit right on Biscayne Boulevard with a view of the bay for only $1,700/month. It is possible to find a nice one-bedroom in nice, central areas such as Coral Gables, Brickell, Downtown, Coconut Grove, and South Beach for about $1,200-$1,300/month, which is a downright bargain considering how much rents are in the large cities in Britain, especially in London. The OP is going to have himself a case of "reverse sticker stock" if he is coming from London!

Thanks again

the PaycheckCity.com | Paycheck Calculator was good for knowing how much would come out from my pay packet each month:
Federal WithholdingSocial SecurityMedicare

what other out going can i expect and how much per month before i get left with money to enjoy my life please? Rent, utilities, Health care (as you guys have private health, or is the media care above), car, food, anything else?

how expensive are drinks and cover to bars/clubs?
