More conspiracy stuff! Good Grief! What next. Why would they hide how many people died? a friend of a friend is not a credible source. The people from Joplin don't need this kind of malarkey being heaped on them. Are you saying the media is hiding this stuff? You need to get out of Branson a little bit more.

Elephant from Piccadilly Circus helps in Joplin tornado clean-up efforts. Wow!

YouTube - ‪Elephant assists in Joplin Tornado Clean Up‬‏

The circus performance had to be cancelled but the entire circus cast pitched in to help the people of Joplin. Amazing generosity.

^^^^Reminds me of pix I took during the flood of 93 while I was home in Ste Gen sandbagging.
People were losing their homes, but they held on to their humor.
Sometimes I think thats all that got them through.

Unhappy Officer struck by lightning dies....

Riverside officer dies after lightning strike in Joplin - KansasCity.com (http://www.kansascity.com/2011/06/03/2923902/riverside-officer-dies-after-lightning.html - broken link)

Quote:
The Riverside police officer struck by lightning while helping with the Joplin tornado died this morning at a Springfield hospital.

Jefferson “Jeff” Taylor, who volunteered to go to Joplin, was 31 years old. He is the first Riverside officer ever to die in the line of duty.

“We are heartbroken,” Riverside Police Chief Greg Mills said today in a statement. “Our department, our community and law enforcement as a whole have lost a dedicated professional doing what he did best — helping those who were in need. The fragility of life gives way to the enduring spirit Jeff showed to us all. Our department will never be the same.”

RIP. Thoughts and prayers to his family and fellow officers.

I do remember many times seeing a field of elephants as a teen in the early to mid 90s just east of Joplin although I can't say their exact location.
