I've read where Bruce Lee did have some contact with a Kajuenkbo practitioner named Tony Ramos. It said that they did exchange ideas with each other. So Bruce was aware of the system.
Also I notice a lot of hard core karate or other styles, are designed to imobilize your opponent...like break bones and all...and I don't think that's allowed in sports fighting...so I notice many styles of martial arts, have to modify into a more 'impact' style, like hit, pound and wrestle...
But on the streets, many would probably resort back to their 'bone snapping' end fight as soon as possible style...since on the streets your objective is to end the fight or threat as soon as possible, instead of scoring points for 3 rounds...
