Popshelf, a new concept by Dollar General, is opening in the former Pier 1 on Airport Blvd.

Sort of like a Five Below, going after that demographic.

Looks like Pinebrook Shopping center is the big winner, Micheals will be moving from Springdale Mall to it, Urgent Care for Children and PJ Coffees has leased in Pinebrook Shopping center and are both expected to open this fall.

U-Haul has bought 3.8 acres of land on 8220 Ala. 59 in Foley

Does anyone know who's building the massive warehouse at the Mcdonald/I-10 interchange next to waffle house?

I was told by the wafflehouse workers that it will be another storage unit.

Michaels' is most likely headed for the former Stein Mart space. That would be their third location here in Mobile since they originally moved from Festival Center, to Springdale (the old Barnes & Noble) and now Pinebrook.

PJ's was supposed to open a location at the corner of Old Demetropolis and Cottage Hill, but that never happened (and the coming soon sign still remains). Hopefully this one finally opens.

Given the future of exit 10, it's destined to be a new link into and around the city once the McFarland Road extension happens, so the potential there is huge.
