CHER MOVIE TRACK RECORD (FYI: I had forgotten she did a BOFFO performance, and was nominated in "Silkwood".
By the early 1980s, Cher began to establish herself as a serious actress with roles in Robert Altman's "Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean"(1982),
"Silkwood" (1983)= he earned a Best Supporting Actress Oscar nomination. Through the 1980s, Cher continued her acting success with a string of memorable roles in
"Mask" - She played the biker-druggie-party gal, Rusty.
The Witches of Eastwick = with Michelle Pfeiffer Susan Sarandon.
Best Actress Oscar-winning turn in "Moonstruck" (1987).

"Tea with Mussolini" (1999).

Loved Kevin Kline in the movie Dave. Did not win any awards, but a very entertaining film nonetheless.Sigourney Weaver gets an award from me by just being in the movie!

Primer - 2004, won some Indie awards, something of a brain teaser. There's more to it than meets the casual mind. Currently running on the Independent Film Channel, available on DVD. Was written, produced, directed, edited, scored... by Shaun Carruth.

Oh so many.

Here's an indie comedy that I really like that has no critical acclaim that I know of - even my friends don't like it. I think it's a hilarious black comedy:

MY NEW GUN

One of my favourite all-time movies.

Sweet, sweet and pickles, too!

Another movie I would add to this thread is Bagdad Cafe. (If you look for it on IMDB, be prepared to look for "Out of Rosenheim" - I don't know why they changed the title.)

It's not for everyone - but I thoroughly enjoyed it and it had Jack Palance playing a role that didn't involve him being the "dark horseman".

I don't know if this made the list or not:

Used Cars. I think it was directed by someone pretty famous (Speilberg ??), but don't remember it getting "Two Thumbs Up". Hillarious.

I would call that one of life's "guilty pleasures". Not much substance but funny as all he!! and Kurt Russell is a total dream boat - thumb's up for laughs!

I have to agree with dontH8Me on Bagdad Cafe, lovely and quirky.
Another sweet little movie is My Life as a Dog (Swedish: Mitt liv som hund, 1985).
It tells the story of Ingemar, a mischievous 12-year-old boy sent to live with relatives. Be sure to rent the subtitled version, as the dubbed one is just horrible, and ruins Ingemar's personality with a Dennis the Menace voice.
