"They call themselves the 'Guardians of the Galaxy."
"What a bunch of a-holes."
I didn't hear of moviegoers complaining.
Again: My point precisely. Marvel has a proven track record of being able to make a successful "team" movie. DC does not. Every attempt by DC so far (BvS, Justice League, Suicide Squad) has been terrible.

Yup. But Birds of Prey isn't a Batman movie. Even Batman has been a bust in his last three onscreen incarnations.
There was more creativity and originality in movies.
Also, a movie can never compare to a comic book. Take Avengers Infinity Wars..it can't compare to the comic book "The Infinity Gauntlet".
Subject to debate. Those days had many fine movies, yet forgettable fare wasn't in short supply. If romance and gangsters are your bag, I'm sure you'll find much to like. Consider the western when you denigrate CBMs. There are many great westerns, but for every ten great ones, there are probably a hundred stock shoot-em-ups that involve little more than "This here town ain't big 'nuff for the two of us!"
Where The Infinity Gauntlet is concerned, I agree 100%, but as you no doubt have seen via comments posted to the threads, there are many who like the movie streamlined at it is.
