I can agree with that. Trying to replace Mr. Elliot in anything is a mistake.

The original movie was so cheesy I was surprised the main villain didn't tie the gal to the train tracks while running off with a big bag with dollar signs on it.

Loved Patrick Swayze and of course Sam Elliots mustache was also in the movie so at least there's that.

Lol!

I know people always reference the original, but I didn't remember much about it. We rewatched it a while back. The cheesiness of it was fun. Isn't there a debate about whether or not that was deliberate?

Hard to say, and don't get me wrong...a cheesy nostalgic favorite can be awesome, we all like different things.

I loved Sam Elliot in Roadhouse and Mask, I wish they still made just a good old entertaining movie. Everything these days is selling something. I'd much rather watch a 80's / 90's movie than a new movie today.

I agree Jake Gyllenhaal does hold his own but just not the same. The remake is really for the younger generation. No one can or should remake Patrick. I think this would be better being called by a different name and with the changes it will not be a remake of Roadhouse and should not be anyway IMO nor should it be called Roadhouse.

I'll skip this.

I enjoyed the original with Patrick Swayze, but not dying to see it again, and I don't see the need to remake it.

He's now that actor who, when I hear he's in a movie, I don't want to see that movie because I know it won't be good.
I'll never forget him in "Bubble Boy"....
