The world needs a ROADHOUSE remake like the mullet needs a comeback.

The original was so bad it was good. This is very hard to accomplish in film making.

Ben Gazzara in full camp mode was terrific!

How many remakes of "A Star is Born" do we need?

All of them have been nominated for multiple Academy Awards - 21 in total - with 3 wins.

As for Roadhouse - who cares. While the first has become a cult classic, let's not confuse this movie with a cinematic film. It's camp, it's fun, let it do it's thing.

The original had Terry Funk, the hard core icon…..so no way this one will be as good anyway.

But I’ll give it a shot since it is “free”

I fully intend to watch this movie, and I know going in that it will be horrific. I mean, it's Jake Gyllenhaal. I'd be hard pressed to think of any movie that was improved by his performance.

Let's be honest, Roadhouse needs a remake just about as much as it needed a sequel... but they still did a sequel. If you don't remember it, that's okay. It was absolutely dreadful. While Roadhouse was so bad it was good, the sequel (a direct-to-DVD release in 2006) was just plain bad. As in, painfully so. It starred Johnathon Schaech. It's okay if you don't know who he is, too, since he has done nothing memorable in 20+ years.

If I were evil, I would recommend that you all watch the abomination that is Roadhouse 2: Last Call. Luckily for my fellow forum-goers, it's only available on VUDU - and you have to pay for it. Probably because nobody is going to watch it on any free service long enough for them to make any ad revenue. Do not pay to watch this steaming pile of garbage. Take my word for it.

Just finished watching Roadhouse 66 after trying to find if I could find Roadhouse 2 The Last Call to watch for free. Roadhouse 66 may have been the precursor to Roadhouse. Starring Judge Reinhold, Willem DeFoe and Allen Autrey - it's the same kind of cheesiness of Roadhouse and I have to say I don't think it was that bad.

I'm looking forward to this.

Spoiler alert- any decent bouncer usually has a cauliflower ear or nose. Sorry, life is gritty.

Patrick Swayze was a much loved actor, and it was awful seeing his final interviews as he bravely battled pancreatic cancer.

I therefore don't think anyone could do the role justice in such circumstances, although Jake Gyllenhaal is a good actor and one of the more likeable Hollywood celebrities.
