But it would be a shame if it ever closed despite that being so common across the country in recent years.

Cherry Hill is desirable. Its middle, middle class. But it can get dumpy.

The biggest draw to Cherry Hill is the fact that Haddonfield, Collingswood, and Philadelphia are close + shopping.

No idea on schools.

It depends what area/development, even the street, in Cherry Hill. Not too many areas are "dumpy" as in run-down, but maybe less attractive with older homes e.g. communities of 1960's built bi levels, or very small ranch homes with ugly chain link fenced yards. Even some of those are rehabbed and sold quickly in today's real estate market.

The shopping vibe is more prevalent on the west side of CH, and CH Mall isn't the only big business but the racetrack redevelopment is bigger. The east side of CH is closer to the Marlton stores and equidistant to some stores or centers in Moorestown/Mt Laurel.

There are nicer and newer homes in the East side, suitable for above upper middle and higher income, and CH East is considered a good high school. It was known to be diverse with Jewish and Asian students. Not sure how it stacks in schools today. It should be noted that Haddonfield is mostly white population and I have my doubts if people in CH East are all that crazy about Haddonfield or Collingswood, with exception of maybe dining out once in a while. Those town residents likely trek to Cherry Hill more for shopping and dining.

I'd consider Berlin or Delran as a town as more middle class.

I should clarify, dumpy as in.. Single Family Homes off these big 'stroads' with unmaintained strip plazas as shown below:

But is transitions to this, rather fast:

I didn't see Cherry Hill until 1996 when I moved to the area. While I'm a bit sad about the loss of the racetrack, there's still plenty of things to like about it.

There's a farm!

You don't need to travel far to take a walk in the woods.

I used to slowly drive through housing developments to avoid Rt. 70 and 73. It didn't save time, but a few bits of the drive were pleasant.
