NJT had a slow-speed Derailment in the Penn station complex.
All Trains in and out of Penn station are suspended , the PATH is cross honoring tickets form NJT at Hoboken , 33rd , and Newark.
All Amtrak service is suspended.....
All Midtown Direct trains are leaving form Hoboken.
All lines except the Atlantic City line are affected.....
NJT is also cross honoring train passes for buses , that goes for private and public bus lines.
No , the current plan is terrible.......and Dangerous. No one in the Northeastern Rail community supports it , because we know its not a plan for the future.
I wonder how long this will last. Just for today, I hope...or else I'm gonna have to find another way to get to the meet-up in JC on Friday
Well, it's now 7:55, and I just got on the 7:33 train to Jersey Ave. The conductor confirmed that this is probably the first train to have seats available.
I got the NJ Transit alerts on this early this afternoon. I normally go through Hoboken unless I leave late or something (there are fewer HOB trains on the NJCL), but my boss was running around telling everyone that if they thought we were going to have a problem to leave a little earlier than normal, so I did, because I thought there might be crowding as the NY Penn people caught the HOB trains. PATH was more crowded than usual (33rd St line) but my NJ Transit train was not--not even after we hit Newark. There was no one in the seat next to me (which suits me just fine, hehehe).

So I THINK you might be OK by Friday
But then again, I wouldn't bet on it
I'll just have to leave early is all. Got my NJ Transit tickets & PATH card ready hehe!
