Since we are heading down memory lane here... what kind of car did your parent's drive? I remember once, mom was pregnant with my little brother and they ended up getting into a car accident - totaled the car! Mom went into labor - gave birth to my brother while having a broken pelvis - ladies, all together now...OUCH! Anyway, she told dad to go out and get a new car. He pulled into the driveway with a brand new El Camino - remember those? Nice car right? NOT IF YOU HAVE 8 KIDS!!! Needless to say, Mom made him take it back..lol ; ))
We had a mint green 1968 Chevy Impala. Then we had a midnight blue 1972 Chevy Impala. The best thing about that car was, that at 5 years old, I could stretch out in the back seat, with my hands above my head, and still not touch the doors. Hehehe. Sweet. I miss hand cranked windows. And naugohyde. lol
Hey. Does anyone remember EJ Korvette's? I do remember that it was founded by Eleven Jewish Korean Veterans, which is how they got the name. Dag nabbit, Jenny is a wealth of useless information, isn't she.....?
OK- growing up we always had old bombs for cars. I remember this HUGE white station wagon with blue plastic type seats. I remember watching my tiny petite 5ft4 mom driving this gigantic car. One time my parents got this used green Barracuda and it had a CB left in it from the previous owner-so I liked that- I thought I was in Convoy or something. I had two handles-rainbow and blondie! We also had a few beat up dodge darts. I remember a huge old pickup truck too and we kids always drove in the back-no cab. I remember going down Rt 37 and also over the bridge to Seaside in the back of that pickup truck with the wind blowing-wow That is probably illegal today.
Damn! Remember how we all kinda thought we were all middle class and it was totally cool. We hardly knew any rich people. It's not like today. When anyone in the neighborhood got a new car, it was a big freakin deal. And GOD forbid it was a Cadillac, because the whole neighborhood would be buzzin that who does mr so and so think he is, the pope> lololol
Something else i remember about Jerzey, those ugly blury drivers licenses. Had to be the worst of any state ever, they looked like someone made them in a basement. Did the change them yet?
