Reading is comprehension. You said that.

What now? That's like saying screw the post office but open movie theaters... or alpaca farms, or the escape room place or ice rinks, or my Uncle Billy's cigar room.

Exactly.

Made no sense.

Seems stable. Let’s reopen the entire state, wear masks, socially distance, but move on.

We can shut down at the end of the year again.

Because apparently shutdowns and punishments are the only way to fight rather than herd immunity like Sweden.

Ok.

Agreed. We may get some more community spread, but another outbreak in the NJ/NY/CT area is unlikely. Contact tracing ought to be up to the task by now.

For anyone who's interested in number crunching & predictions, the most intense analyses are going on over at Twitter. A poster there by the handle The Ethical Skeptic compiles all the reporting of cases/deaths/etc. Particularly, the # of deaths from all causes in the US has been dropping since mid-June, indicating that the CDC is trying to stretch the curve, while the corrected graphs show covid19 following a very similar trajectory as SARS-1 had.

Cuomo just said they're moving NYC to Stage 4 (final stage) without reopening anything indoors. I imagine Murphy will announce we're done with re-openings tomorrow or Monday. Despite the fact that the epidemic is over here.

I know this is the NJ forum, but Wolf just announced yesterday in PA that we’re going backwards with reopening. We went from outside gathering of 250, back to 25.

Thing is, no one in our rural community is playing along anymore. They’re done. Even my friend who is higher-risk, as well as her two kids, has had enough and invited a bunch of people over for a birthday party.

The governors are fighting a losing battle with the people. They have power over businesses to a large degree, but they can’t dictate to millions of people unless they become dictators.
