Went to the nearby gunstore on Friday 5/29 and it was a long line to get in. I probably waited 25mins to get in and pick up my ammunition and new handgun. I was surprised to see novices that I never seen before show up and couldn't buy a handgun because they were sold out and ended up picking up an AR-15 instead. A lot of folks were just desperate to get anything but you can't just buy a gun the same day without going through a background check. This guy next to me had an envelope with cash probably a thousand dollars. He has no clue what to buy but I guess with the riots happening he probably wanted to protect his business or home. But Friday was definitely a very busy day compared to Fridays in the past at this gun store.

SHot gun is better for home defense.

Ar-15 can go through walls. If you kill an unintended target, the 5-0 will put a knee on your neck.

What are NJ's gun laws?

I know about the concealed carry process, and I know that you can't open carry, but what about the homeowner who wants to keep his/her pistol at home, and for use at the range?

You can definitely keep the gun in YOUR house, as long as it's your gun and it's in your residence, the pistol can be kept there, of course you'll need the permit card to purchase ammo for the pistol, no problem though. The messy issues come when and if you need to use that piece at home...

As far as specific gun laws, there are many, but just know you can't shoot anyone in your home unless you are in what they call "imminent danger" also if the person is allowed in your house or lives there, not a good idea to shoot them. I feel like I read that you couldn't fire warning shots, but the someone told me that you could as long as it was in the direction opposite the burglar.

Having a piece in your car is not a big deal as long as it's not loaded, in a compartment or trunk, and you have the permit card.

Why are you buying a gun? I can't stand people who own guns. Stop putting communities and schools at risk! Save children's lives! I have no support for guns! Every time I check the news, he or she shot someone! Boohoo!

No, you absolutely CANNOT fire warning shots. Not only in NJ, either. Don't listen to crazy Uncle Joe Biden, who advises this very thing.

To purchase a firearm in NJ, you will need a Firearm ID card. It will take you a while, and the state doesn't adhere to its own rules as to length of time they have to issue your ID. Thanks, NJ.

you shouldn't get a gun. You need to do yoga or therapy.
