To the people who dislike Obama and think he's the second coming of Satan, do you think putting someone like Sarah Palin in the White House would have been a better choice?

Sure... It's all "power to the people" until the people stop voting your way then it's "to hell with the people-they don't know what they're talking about." You can only preach that so long until 51% of your constituency rightfully tosses you to the curb for not representing their interests as you had been elected to do. During the 2010 elections I believe that we're going to see the GOP lose more seats as a result of this type of bullheaded thinking. Then all that will be left of the party will be the Michelle "Bring-back-the-House-Un-American-Activities-Committee" Bachmanns of the world. The GOP needs to compromise or be marginalized.

just because 51% (or whatever it actually is, im just using your example) say one thing, doesnt mean the other 49% should no longer have their beliefs represented. the republicans are now there to be the opposition. to prevent obama from pushing his communist agenda.

im not sure where it became so evident that the GOP is too far right and the dems are centrist. i see it differently. i see the dems as being a bunch of wackjob commies and the republicans representing the mainstread working american. obama got his votes from racists, unemployed, illegal immigrants, dead people, scared seniors, and so forth. the dem constituency is a bunch of delinquents.

I would like an explanation why so many republicans are convinced that Obama is pushing such "socialist" or (now I've heard it all) "communist" agendas as President of the United States and that the GOP is honestly doing something fundamental for this country's mainstream working class American. I am not even a full out Obama fan boy or even a Democrat (more of an Independent, I guess), but statements like these I can't help but have to read over several times just to see if I've read right. No I don't think Obama was voted in by "racists" or "dead people". If anything, it seems to me most hardcore Conservatives and extremists within the GOP are the racist ones.
