They have started - I had to drive to ELP Friday night, and totally forgot about the construction. It did take bit longer than usual.

I always thought the NAFTA highway was I-35. Laredo is a much busier truck port than El Paso.

But I do believe it is supposed to be part of the Pan American Freeway.

Nah, it'll still be only two lanes on the TX side. Should be interesting.

Since the stretch in NM is being widened to six lanes, that will leave the stretch on the Texas side at four lanes.

I seem to recall reading that work on the Texas side will begin soon also? Not sure?
