The garage is going to be given out to a third party company to run. The rep didn't have any idea how much a spot would be. My guess is it's going to run around $500/month. Not cheap. Also bicycle parking/space would be available for $300/year. The gym (which is where they are using as the rental office) is going to be $300/year. Not worth the money for such a small space. She wasn't sure if they are giving one-year or two-year leases. She wasn't sure if there was a freight elevator either. I was thinking about large items of furniture. There are things I like about the building but right now there is more I dislike and that includes the scary neighborhood. Is there anyone really familiar with the neighborhood? I'm a native New Yorker and I know the neighborhood is changing but still there are concerns.

I got approved the studio for 1448 and I got called to sign the lease! But after thinking about it I see more cons. The space is small, lease is 3 year! That's just too long for a commitment to a space so small! Gym and parking 300/year! Wow..but All the best luck to the people that did get a apt and are moving in. Also if anyone has information of a landlord or building that will be moving out of I would appreciate the information as my search still goes on....

I dont understand why people applied or continued with the application process knowing that the rent was expensive for them and the space small. After the first interview when they gave the floor plans i already knew what i was getting into.

Actually the size is fine for me, and I still believe it's a bargain compared to similar apartments in Manhattan (and let's say that Queensboro plaza is almost like staying in Manhattan).

But I 'm surprised about the 3 year lease! Daisy1986: do you have any information on early cancellation penalties?

I just got my first notice yesterday. The rent ranges they're providing in the table shows $1448 for a studio to $2186 for a 2BR. Does that mean all the lower ranges are gone?

What is the likelihood of getting an apartment now if your income changed a bit and might be below the min income range for $1448?

i got a post card yesterday to come drop off my information. On the card, it showed rent of 1448 for a studio, 1818 for a one bedroom. Does it mean that i didnt get the reduced rent rate? Is it worth paying 1818 for a one bedroom in that neighborhood?
