Oh my goodness!

Everything you guys are telling me is just pure madness. How do you appeal? I called the number indicated on my letter, but the young girl that answered didn't want to help me. My log number is in the very early 2000's.

It's pretty by-the-book. My husband works with someone who used to work with Dawn in the Q41 office. He had this guy email Dawn to see if there was anything she could do for us and she said definitely not, they have to follow the rules. So I guess if you have preferences and/or a lower log number, you have the advantage.

Clearly, i don't have any advantages. Plus, the person who answered the phone did not want to assist at all. So how do you appeal?

No idea how the appeal process works. If you do call, ask to speak to Dawn. Don't engage in a conversation with the woman who answers the phone. She is rude and incompetent.

ok. I'll do that. I just wish someone on here would have a smooth process. Doesn't seem like anyone has.

I confirmed that my appeal is being worked on. I guess we will see how the progress goes.

I called today to follow-up. They said they are still filling units, but there aren't many left. My log is in the mid 2000s and they said that they haven't gotten to my number yet. So nothing new to me. My lease is up in August and I am moving in my with BF... this would be a great starter home. I guess time to start looking elsewhere, it's just so crazy, nothing in Western Queens with outdoor space until 2500

What do you mean Western Queens and space and 2500?

You have to sign a new lease for a new place, right? Can you do month to month?

AH sorry, I meant under 2500. I'm either going to try to do a month to month for one more while I wait to hear from Q41, or put my things in storage and stay with him in Yonkers. I am putting a lot of faith in this process haha

A couple of lotteries opened up: one in Greenpoint and one in Bed Stuy. The rent varies for income ranges, but the "middle income rent" is 2400. ARGH.

I guess I have to resign myself to being poor forever if I want to live in New York City, even an outer borough.
