We regularly contacted BG for updates and always provided our documentation immediately. We are a three person family with a Community Board Preference and had been told 4 months in to the process that we passed the round table review and that we would be shown a 2 bed 2 bath unit. Months went by and nothing happened before we finally heard from compliance. We were finally shown a unit about 6.5 months into the process and were told that no more 2 bed 2 baths were available. We complained to BG that we thought they forgot about our file and gave our unit to someone with a higher log number, or one without a CB preference. They said that they followed protocol and that no other 2 bed 2 baths were available anyway. After we did our HDC signing, we sent an email directly to HDC and spoke to the HDC supervisor for the 250 Ashland lottery (she is an absolutely amazing person) and expressed our concern that BG skipped us in assigning us an apartment and submitting our application to HDC in order of Log Number and CB preference and that we thought we did not get rightful choice of our apartment. We got an email back from HDC that we were right and that we should have been assigned a 2 bed 2 bath. HDC assigned us a 2 bed 2 bath that we ultimately signed the lease for.

Until we got word back from HDC about the new apartment, we were so upset with this entire process and the thought of moving into this building after getting screwed by BG. But HDC really came through, took our complaint seriously and provided a remedy. And, the building's leasing office and entire staff are the nicest and incredibly helpful.
I tried to tell this forum, we need to complain in order for things to go smoothly cause BG sucks period. I agree that, that lady is an ANGEL. She help me out also. Took me 7 + months .
But congrats on your signing, is it worth the wait or not!???

Wow, great advocacy. I have a feeling I'm going to be going down that road myself, as my application sits...and sits...

i was contacted for additional information in early August, submitted all of them in 48hrs. then my file now is passed onto "leasing/compliance" from the reports of others, this process seems to last around 2-4wks? I haven't heard a single word from them and its been just about a month next wk. so i decided to email/call - and samething, "your log number is xxxxx..like i've mentioned to you, your file has been passed onto leasing/compliance..once they're upto your log#, you'd be called" really, i know my file is just sittin in the dark. this place is fking useless. its simply a yes or no. i am now moving into 3mths into the process. i will give them until mid september.

That's so reassuring that HDC was fair and helpful. I found that once I file was moved to Corey at BG from another person the process went much faster.

They've had my docs for six weeks and the file hasn't even gone to compliance yet...they really are a disgrace. Wrote to follow up politely (to make sure there were no missing documents) at the month mark and the intake guy didn't even have the grace to sound apologetic.

this is for everyone, take 20 min out of your day and call hdc , make a complaint and get in touch with the supervisor overseeing this project.
This building is to great to pass up or give up on . (even tho there's a 74 story building coming in two years in the same area)

update to this: SO! got a call yesterday from my "new" intake specialist - guess what's needed? MORE DOCS - BUT! THE SAME DOCS! apparently, what i've submitted since initial interview and early august - some of those are "expired" so they need more recent ones..funny how docs just "expires" when you leave them alone and just hope that they'd do their jobs correctly and timely..NOPE. so..here i go again..taking extended long lunches and getting the same docs printed. THEN, once submitted, it'll go where this time? right,...compliance and leasing again..this center is truly a EFFING disgrace. WOW. I really want to know..who the F decided to contract such an high-end property to this POS place of an agency.

I don't feel comfortable complaining while I'm still "in process," though it's getting near the point where if they are indeed just randomly offering people apartments without regard to log number based on when they happen to get around to looking at their papers (as it sounds like may be happening) there will be no recourse left because there will be no unoccupied apartments.

I've already mentally drafted the complaint letter for after the process is over, though.

Someone should post that HDC supervisor number.

I had to provide the same docs about 3 time due to them expiring.
