Hi guys! I was given a unit number today and waiting to sign my hpd papers (“soon”)as well as view the apartment... this is great news, but I still feel like, “is the apartment mine yet!?” Like I don’t want to jinx myself! Can anyone give their feedback? Can I feel confident at this stage?
No, do not celebrate until you sign the lease. But you are almost there. What size unit? They may want to get you in by Feb 1, so be ready. Can you say what floor? Those who are in are scattered through out the building. Once HPD approves you will view and then sign the lease. Good luck , all I can say is I LUV MY UNIT!,,,. Keep us posted, and hope to see you there.
Wiivile -I agree with you. I don't think waiting a year is normal. Of course, my recent experience with BG has tainted them in my eyes forever. I don't know if you saw my post about how they completely screwed me over but I think there is something odd about how they do business. I truly hope the best for you and for ever else who has been waiting so long. Not sure that prayer, as some have suggested is the answer (at least in my eyes) but if it works for some then great. I'm not even sure if continued patience is the answer at this point. I think getting on the phone and calling the HPD hotline for some help is worthwhile. I found them very helpful when I called yesterday to find out if I had recourse to what BG did to me. Perhaps they can advise you or find out directly from BG what is happening. Just a thought?
I understand the anxiety but you cannot hurry the process, they are going to move at their own speed. There were those who waited 10 months or more and the only option we had was to wait. I totally agree that it is more than frustrating but if you can push them then by all means do it. BTW > the new digs was worth the frustration and the wait. For all those waiting I to want the process to move on so I meet my new neighbors. There are over a hundred apts that are still not occupied.
Good Luck to all, and again patience & prayer.
I appreciate the reminder of being patient... as being patient has worked for those that have already moved in.... on the other hand I relate to the frustration of the inconsistencies and the way this process has been handled. Good luck to those still waiting! (Including myself)
