Thanks shady, my guess was 600. Shady, can you confirm we potentially need 60k cash when called since they do not allow financing. If thats the case I hope I get called for a smaller 1 bedroom for 40k lol.
I’m still waiting to hear about my appeal... at this point I’m so discouraged that I don’t even care to get in or anything. I called 2 weeks ago they told me to call this past Monday and when I called I was told that the appeal process takes 4-6 weeks. But I figure if my appeal gets approved all there going to do is put me on a waiting list so I just give up. Good luck to all of you who passed the first part. I hope that things work out in favor for all of those who passed the first process!!
I'm trying to decide to renew a 1 or 2 year lease. I know even if selected I can wait years but I'd rather not get locked into a long lease unless I have a nice apt coming to me at Penn south
You can always freeze your application for up to 5 years should you get picked. That would also allow you time to come up with the 25% down.
Can you freeze it for 5 years but say, 2 years in, that you want to un-freeze? Or is it a locked in 5 year chunk no matter what? I realize I probably won't get a log number but I am curious, lol.
I have a theoretical question... I have read all 121 pages of the 2014 Lottery forum, and it appears that all correspondence (at least until you become a cooperator) is done via snail mail. I cannot imagine how much this costs PennSouth. Does anyone know if you can specify (perhaps at application time) that you prefer email correspondence? I realize that in 2014, they might not have either had the will or the desire or the capacity to do this - but I sure would prefer to get all my letters via email - so much quicker!
I also have two questions for any cooperators on the list:
1) I live about two hours north of NYC (used to be a Manhattanite and a Brooklynite). How are "home visits" scheduled for people who are outside of the city I wonder?
2) I know that management does an inspection of apartments in PennSouth (1 time per year? 2 times per year?). I travel a LOT - do you have to be HOME when they do an inspection, or can you sign a piece of paper allowing them to inspect without your being there?
Thank you. I salute all of those on the 2014 list, from whom I have learned so much! And I appreciate whoever RE-started the 2019 list, as we'll be going through this together.

Thanks for that info...But if I'd get selected I'd want to move asap!
I got my 25% ready to go
Let's GO Penn South, Let's GO!
