After 5 years on the waitlist, I have closed on a studio in PS! Thank you to everyone who has posted and continues to post on this site. It is so so helpful and I truly appreciate it!
Good luck to all on the lists, both 2014 and 2019!
Now I'm going to be asking about stoves, window treatments, etc. Thanks for all your help!

Wow, HKCG! Congrats! A 5 year wait - and now it's over! Tell us all about the process and your new place! What floor are you on? What direction do you face?
Blanchehudson, I have a 2.5 room studio, and there is plenty of room for a queen size bed and couch. I haven't moved in yet, but I've done a lot of measuring. I have a couch with an extended chaise longue type piece and it's going to fit just fine. I also have a love seat, and that will also fit. The kitchen is pretty big as well, and the bathroom has a dressing area right next to it. I saw what they call a 2 room studio when I first looked at the 4 apartments that were available, and it was definitely much smaller than a 2.5 room studio.
Sukiehudson, I'm just high enough to have a great view of the park right outside. My sister came to see the apartment the day I closed, and she said, "Wow, you live in a treehouse!" I have two huge windows, one facing south and other west, since the apt. is at the corner of the building.
Incog79, thanks so much. I'm going to send a separate email with all my questions. I appreciate it.
One thing that anyone who is waiting for an apartment should be aware of is that even if you have a higher number when you start getting letters to look at apartments, that doesn't mean you won't get one that round. I was 15th on the list to look at 4 apartments, so I didn't think that I would get one. I saw the apartments in July with no expectations of getting one, but I got a call out of the blue the first week of October. I looked at the apartment again the next day, met with Carmen (who is so amazing)the day after that, and closed last week. Carmen and the staff at PS are very nice and very thorough. They give you lists and guidance every step of the way. The home visit is pretty quick. They just come to your apartment and take some pictures and ask a few questions. If you need a mortgage, PS has their own credit union, but it may take a little longer to close.
Thanks again to everyone for sharing their experiences.
No one on there has gotten anything yet. Someone commented not too long ago saying they got waitlisted for 416 Kent. I interviewed back in July for a different building but the same managing agent as 416/420 Kent. I was told they were almost a year in interviewing for 416 and 420 Kent interviews had started not too long ago. I have a 11,xxx log for both with cb but have not been contacted.
