Somehow almost a year later, I was contacted two weeks ago randomly on a Saturday from an unknown number, and because I just happened to not be busy I answered.
The marketing agency was on the other line asking if I was still interested in an apartment and I of course said yes.
I was lucky because I had one week to submit all of my documents, and earlier that very week I was contacted for another lottery and had all of my documents already prepared.
I uploaded everything, and over the course of a week clarified a few things for the agency for my income, signed a lot of papers, and we submitted my application to HPD last week Friday.
Yesterday my status on housing connect changed from “Under Review” to “Review Complete”, and today I was notified that my application was approved!
I’ll be taking next steps with the agency, but it looks like I got an apartment and I’m stunned! I can’t believe it because I was still thinking about this lottery and how I came so close.

Congratulations! I hope you enjoy your new digs! My application status is still PENDING in housing connect for this one but my log # is in the 4,XXX range with no preferences so I don't think I'll be getting any random phone calls from an unknown number any time soon lol

You just never know. Mine was also an unexpected random call and I didn't pick up initially. I'm so lucky they left a voicemail for me.

Congratulations on your new apartment! It would be nice if I end up getting a call, I was log #1xx, 80% ami with no CB preference. I went to the viewing but apparently there was no units available when they got to me. Any idea what the number that called you looked like?
