Those "ghetto rules" still apply today. Neighbors do speak to eachother respectfully, children do have good manners and respect elders, and criminals are despised...much the same as everywhere else. No need to long for anything...people are still the same..but it's always a few bad apples that ruin things for everyone..nevermind how government policies made matters worse in some cases.

Absolutely! What would make you think otherwise?

Oh wait, I know why: because any of us little people who deign to decry "ghetto behavior" must be racist in the eyes of the white, liberal, upper crust establishment.

i went into a deli before in a somewhat "ghetto" neighborhood, prep school just got out and these kids under 10 years old (literally not even 4 feet tall) were "trolling" the deli owners and pretending to steal stuff while little ghetto girls were saying "he stealing, he stealing", also joking.

even ghetto children are annoying to be around. i just shake my head inside when i saw this.

I've pretty much seen it all in NYC already when it comes to ghetto cultured people.

Sweaty and Shirtless train riders -

Clipping toenails on the train -

Stealing basketball hoops from front yards and school yards -

Sidewalk bbqs/booz with chairs and tables blocking the street -

Constantly hawking and spitting on side walks and public transportation -

Never picking up their dog doodoo after their dogs go -

Throwing trash on the street rather than a garbage can just a few feet away -

Car owners blocking the street like they own it and refuse to rush and move it when traffic builds behind it, I've seen this even with emergency vehicles trying to go through -

Eating large meals on public transportation sticking up the place -

ECT ECT ECT

The opposite---I'm moving into and overrunning their neighborhood in Inwood. I enjoy their food, their native color, their attractive females, and so on, but they must be taught the rudiments of first world civilization, such as "the streets are not a trash pit" and "**** after midnight...some folk have jobs."

Body cams that are on 24-7 would resolve that issue ASAP. I wonder why the PBA never supports this idea? It would help the cops, the city and the civilians.....

Glad to hear that! I am also thinking of Inwood for future investment. I think its got alot of potential. You can clearly see the difference on both sides of Broadway!

I think the laws to evict a tenant for not paying rent should be revised in favor of landlords! Its ridiculoous to think a tenant can remain in a rental rent free for up to 1 whole yr, till the judge rules. Even if the landlord wins, he is not able to collect back rent!

I am in east of Broadway, which I also refer to as "no mans land" in the Inwood war of Yuppies/SWPLS vs. Dominicans.
