I heard that a number of Harlem churches had grown quite critical of his refusal to comment.
At least a few called for him to be removed.

Again?

Isn't he a convicted felon? If so, I don't think (legally) he can run for office.

Fat Al should have been charged with felonious fibbery after the Brawley case.

In fact the Civil Rights Act of 1964 has DESTROYED the Black family. Have we really made any progress when 73% of Black babies are born out of wedlock or when only 20% of Blacks have even an Associate's Degree?
Bull****.

The civil rights act did not destroy the Black family. You conveniently ignore the fact that the President, a black man with two ivy league degrees, is married to a woman (Black) who also had two ivy league degrees.

What the civil rights bill did was let people rise or fall to their level. Some Blacks did much better (Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice was Black, ditto Colin Powell). Its true some became even poorer, particularly after migrating to big cities and getting caught up in the easy welfare and crack cocaine epidemics.

But that's LIFE. You act as if all Black people have one mind, are all the same size, and think all the same. Newsflash, we don't . The civil rights bill allowed water to find its own level. So those Blacks who really wanted to work hard and get good educations have done better than ever . As for those lacking, well you see the results.

And for those lacking, its entirely up to them to fix their problems (or they maybe happy as things are and that's fine too).

But the greater threat to the ideology of some is that the civil rights meant you could not legally discriminate by race or gender. So universities had to admit people of all races and all genders and employers had to hire people of all races and genders.

So to a certain type of white man who put a lot of emotional investment into certain jobs being reserved for white men, this meant his world basically collapsed into. Especially when he could be replaced by a Black person, an Asian person, a Hispanic, or a woman of any gender.

I think those who hate the civil rights law obviously don't give a damn about Black families. They care about their order being shattered, and by now, shattered irreparably. After all, people of color can vote (thanks to the civil rights bill) and in NY they voted for de Blasio and ended the Giuliani/Bloomberg era.

You turned weird by claiming the civil rights bill, which got rid of state sanctioned segregation, was responsible for the destruction of the Black family. Or rather, you agreed with a poster who said that.

The poster was basically saying Blacks need to be kept under segregation to keep the Black family intact.

And you agreed.

You turned weird. And you did speak for yourself, and agreed with an extremely racist statement.

THANK YOU for the bolded. The black people who are living like animals live that way because that's what they are. The blacks who have done well and moved forward have done so because that's what THEY are. Most blacks doing well for themselves do not like being lumped in with those who don't. Just like whites don't want to be lumped in with the trailer park folks.
