1) insane anyone is defending this piece of garbage arrested today. He sold drugs and rented a hotel room to get high with some girl, and shoved his gun to her when he saw cops. She has admitted this much. He's been arrested like 24 times before. Including rape, threatening a family with a gun, robbing people with a box knife just two months ago, and a host of other things.

There should be a global travel alert against traveling to NYC because anyone can get randomly killed by the so called NYC heroes and when that happens people will cheer for the cops. World class city? My a**!

Yes, it happens so often that most of us don't leave the house unless we're going to hang out with righteous street corner criminals.

Maybe, he has memory problems..

You can hardly walk down the streets of Manhattan, crowded as they are with tourists!
NYC is at the top of the safety lists for US cities, thanks to the NYPD.

Still doesnt erase what this officer was videotaped doing. Now had this guy been just a witness to the act with no hard evidence then his credibility would have taken a major hit. The fact that this officer was videotaped applying an illegal chokehold despite repeated pleads from Garner stating that he couldnt breathe is what's going to be the nail in the coffin for this cop.

Garner and Orta were career criminals, plain and simple. I do think the cops used excessive force on Garner, but the reality is if he had not devoted his life to crime he wouldn't have gone down the way he did. He told the police that his issues with the cops would end that day, and end it did.

Garner, a drug dealer (among other crimes), not surprisingly had a friend, Orta, who was a drug dealer (among other crimes).

It's yet to be proven that it was actually a chokehold, and it certainly was not illegal, although chokeholds may be a procedural violation. It's also doubtful that he couldn't breathe, because he would not have been able to say those words, were he actually choking. If any criminal charges come against the officers involved, their lawyers will have a field day with any NYC ME who makes such claims, and the defense will probably have Dr. DiMaio or Dr. Baden to blow holes in those opinions.
Ironically, Orta claimed to have asthma, when arrested, and was taken to the hospital.
The bigger question, to me, was whether Orta had that gun on him, when he was videoing the arrest of Garner. After all, it's not like Orta hasn't been arrested on weapons possession charges before. It's been asked elsewhere, whether Orta was muscle for Garner & his loosie racket.
