[quote=Moving415;48180280]Do you mean your denial was overturned in the appeal? That's good. It means you're back where you were before you were denied. This is a very long process that can take years. They'll get in touch with you if anything more is needed. Stop worrying about his one.[/Q
Yes it was. Thanks for your reply.
I have a relatively low log and community board preference. I am also in process for 3 other developments some of which i have community board and two other general pool with low logs. I just wanted some insight because this particular developer didn't tell me anything except asking to send in new documents are mine expired because it had been 120 days since my original intake interview.
Student loans and medical loans are treated differently. I have a mountain of student loan debt and was just approved by HPD. I was for sure certain that would disqualify me.
No, it won't affect you to grab the low-income lottery apartment. but you need to explain it to the interview agent.
It is your right to hold rents until your landlord fixs it.
Good luck.
Actually, this is very risky. Withholding rent rarely stands up in court, unless you've used appropriate means like writing your landlord multiple times with certified mail, requesting a repair deadline, and making sure they've acknowledged your message, etc. If you have to be very detailed in your proof that they've acknowledged your request, and exactly what repairs are needed.
If you withhold rent, your landlord will simply take you to court, and defend him/herself by saying they've already told you they'd fix the problem, and/or that they never received your request to make repairs, *and* not only will they make you pay your back rent, but the courts actually entitle landlords to charge the tenant for court fees. You'll be in so much debt by the time it's all over.
I guess you are going to be next in line if someone isn't able to move or pay the rent. At least you know your status 😞. Some people still get an apt even if they on the waiting list so don't worry. I have heard of people getting called year later.
