A few pages back, weeks before de Blasio released his doomsday budget I said this was likely to happen. A 1600 manpower reduction for DSNY would be devastating to DSNY and the city long term. DB also feels that if people are working from home more there isn't a need to salt and plow as aggressively as they have been in years past. Fewer people leaving their homes for work, school, etc....

Strap in folks. The next 18 months of the de Blasio administration is going to make the last 78 months look like a vacation.

It still just sounds like a BS scare for more money. Nothing more than a political stunt.

No shot

Layoffs are A rumored last resort for October 1. So I highly doubt they are even considering a class for October

It seems like every council member is touting how they "saved the budget" without losing one city worker. We'll be hearing the same lingo in October lol...

Maybe saving the existing work force but hiring is another thing.
My fingers are crossed for you guys right on the line. I know the hell I went through to get on and it’s worth the wait regardless of all the bull**** we go through.

I was at Floyd Bennett Field last week for training again and they have no clue about a new class eother

Not sure if this is still true, but every new class, they start from list number 1 and then go up. Correct?
