They didn’t say either, but said positions were available, I imagine permanent if not they would have made it a point to mention that.

@snif1118 yes I begin on June 13th as well.

If you do this, make sure your name remains active on the list so that you continue to get canvas letters.
I imagine a lot of people do this as they often don't get location information until after they accept the position.

Also, if you accept a permanent position you are removed from the list. If contingent, you remain active on the list and continue to get canvassed for open positions.

I accepted a position with family court. They only had Brooklyn and the Bronx family court left. No civil or criminal. They said they will try and accommodate me to stay in the Bronx but that they couldn't guarantee it. I hope they are able to because I live within 20 minutes of the courts which is why I love working in the Bronx and wish to remain there.

They will let you know the location. The start date is June 13th. If you are a new hire you have to do a background check(be prepared to pay. It was $75 when I did it 4 years ago.) You will have to fill out all paperwork for the union, health insurance, life insurance, retirement, direct deposit etc. They might have you come in for a 2 day orientation which is held at 25 Beaver street.
