Good Morning,
BROWNBERRIES are you out there?
Your updates are usually quite helpful.
Any updates on the interviews from April?
Proposed/possible dates of hire?
Im here now. I havent heard anything on the horizon. However, I am optimistic. There was just a senior police administrative aide exam, so that means there will be vacancies to fill! PAAs are coming and I am eagerly awaiting *smile*. If there is anything in the ether, I will report.
MannyP thanks for the info. Where did you get the update from?
Damn. Hiring freeze. The citys fiscal year ends June 30. Hopefully the new budget after that will allow for hiring.
Its a sit and wait process.

Good morning everyone,
In reference to how the freeze operates and the budget operate...
The way the city (and state and federal) government(s) is set up, the Mayor, in his/her capacity as Chief Executive of the city government, can install a citywide hiring freeze or a partial freeze, as a means to reduce the size and costs of the aforementioned government.
The legislative body of the city, then, has to approve to disapprove the proposed budget of the Mayor, which takes places after discussions with all city agencies heads.
It is after that, the Mayor has to enact the budget as approved by both parties, which could include complete or partial removal of the freeze.
Has anyone heard or received anything? Did the freeze happened?
Thanks!
