The point is to upgrade if you can, not downgrade

I'm renting, so having my own house would be an upgrade.

But is the poster a renter or owner in Bushwick? One cannot find a turn key house for $475K in Bushwick. If he or she is looking to own, and likes historical homes, wants to be close commuting to manahattan, and must spend under $500K, then you have to take the gamble on areas like the south BX.

Have you ever tried to get around Highbridge in the winter?

For somebody coming from Bushwick, that will be a big adjustment for starters

If that s all that a home is being looked for then that's a great opportunity. Some people are good with a nice place in a bad area, I'm just thinking a place that size would most likely be for a family, so there's more to a nice sized place with family.
