I don't have the "might as well give up" attitude for any topic in life.
I'm not neglecting other aspects of preparation, self-care and physical health by simultaneously preparing for the possibility of total breakdown.
I get that it is a tough concept to understand for many (especially in NYC), but as with our previous discussion (50 pages back? lol), it's just in the mindset.
I came from a world where you fight to your last bullet even when you're sick, dying, covered in soon-to be fatal wounds, and with no hope for rescue. Then you pull out a knife, and when that breaks you use your hands until they fail. That's just how my brain works. I don't rely on other people or results that come from other people's work.
I have a feeling the virus is spreading through the subways. It's probably how the cases spike up so fast, very unlikely that one NYer is going home and spreading to family this quickly. It has to be somewhere that mixes a lot of strangers such as workplace, grocery stores, and subway. If you don't have a face mask don't try to take a train/bus without it and wash hands immediately afterwards.
I'm walking to trader joes but have to take the train home after due to the distance and carrying the groceries. I will happily risk the subway for fresh veggies and produce. I will not stop taking care of myself and eat just processed crap!
Wow, that's almost as bad as Trump's behavior throughout -- downplaying the virus every chance he gets in order to preserve his precious stock market, at the expense of our health and our lives.
The ONLY thing he has done right so far is cutting the flights from China. Everything else is a huge failure and going to result in an enormous disaster. It already has.

Last time I took the subway was about 9 days ago. I think maybe should have stopped taking it earlier than that. It seems it spreads extremely easily and many times I was taking it I was certainly not 6 feet from anyone, more like 2 inches.
