I prefer self checkout. The less interaction with people the better.

Yup. It's on the second floor. Go past the pizza area and the sandwich area. You'll see those big screens. Walk past them going towards the area where the prepared foods are and you'll see the self checkout area. It's basically where they used to have the express checkout. The lines downstairs are so long that I'd shoot myself if I had to stand in them for four items. Last time I was in there some Whole Foods employee came and told a bunch of us and I was like thank you Jesus. I would've been stuck waiting 20 minutes at least otherwise. I don't do my major shopping there, as they are limited in what they carry and too crowded with tourists. I go to Hudson Yards or Whole Foods in New Jersey that are bigger and carry everything I need. Those also have large self checkouts, so I never wait in a line long.

More than $15???

Quote:
Trader Joe’s pays its crew members an average minimum hourly wage of $13.29, according to Glassdoor.
At least Whole Foods gets the $15.

Quote:
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor and Statistics, as of 2018, the average wage of a cashier at a food and beverage store is $11.43. Land a job a Whole Foods, though, and you'll be making almost 4 more dollars an hour. In 2018, the company bumped up its minimum wage to $15 an hour

I love self check. The last time I was in a grocery store, in the 15 items or less, I had the luck to be behind someone who was using cash and trying to match the exact with a pile of change. Down to the penny. It was like a window back to 1950.

Whole Foods used to have great quality customer service. It is too bad they caved in to the woke and ghetto/thug culture.

Everybody keeps mentioning $15. What is magic about $15? Why not $15.17? Why not $14.93? Why not $53.67? Why not $16.00?

Yep, and that's $24,700 take-home pay, assuming the employee is getting 40 hours a week.

That's a tad higher than the Medicaid asset limit for couples, and 50% higher for singles. So unless you have kids, you won't be getting much relief.

Don't confuse ASSET limits with INCOME limits.

Quote:
Married couples with both spouses applying for nursing home Medicaid or a HCBS Waiver are typically allowed to have $4,000 in countable assets. In many states, married applicants are considered as single applicants and each spouse is permitted up to $2,000 in assets.
Gee,that asset limit is almost enough to cover expenses for 2 weeks. <sarcasm> Quite the safety net, eh?
I guess those with $2001 in the bank are considered too rich for help. <more sarcasm.>
