Maybe that is their passive-aggressive way of telling you they don't approve of your look, fashion choices, or the way you carry yourself. Some people just suffer from foot-in-mouth disease and cannot or will not consider how that message is being received. I have relatives whose mouths are quicker than their brain, fortunately, I don't have to see them often. When I do, it never fails, they will inevitably say something ignorant and I'm left wondering what they meant by it...was it an insult, a jab, or just a harmless lack of tact on their part? Either way, I step back back and just remind myself to be thankful that I don't live in their petty, miserable little world.

Hmmmm...we wore the same clothes and did our hair the same way up until the time we were 14 years old...and when I was younger it was worse, imo...I'm leaning towards the idea they just like her better.

Yup. Because eventually the attention will cease. It doesn't last forever. I like the girl next door because they're more than likely have something else to do with their time other than be concerned about their looks ALL OF THE DARN TIME!!!! That's a total turn off.

Trust your instincts. As much as family members, particularly parents, grandparents and aunts/uncles, will say they don't have favorites they do. It's just unfortunate that some of them make it so obvious.
