Outstate Missourians keep trying to force their very regional pronunciation on others. I’m am born and raised St. Louis Countian. Lived there for 65 years. Missouri is correctly pronounced like it is spelled.

I never heard that - grew up in Western PA., just outside of Pgh. and traveled to WV (as a youngster went to the bars, etc. there while underage, LOL) - my mother lives there now - maybe Southern or Western or something WV?

In south Jersey it’s “Wooder”. Rita’s water ice had a billboard saying that one year lol.

Speaking of New Jersey accents, I remember seeing a billboard advertising a local dairy in North Jersey. The sign said, “Don’t Be Quart Short.”

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about her. It does suck not to know what happened to people. I am going to leave my fiancé instructions to post here under my name if anything happens to me, to let people know. Some others have done that that I have seen over the years.

My nephews wife’s mother used to play an online game with other people, something with medieval times. She played it all the time with her little headset on. When she died suddenly from a stroke, my niece in law let the other players know in the game going on under her handle. They actually did a silent match through the village in the game to honor her!

I've lived in Missouri a long time though. One difference I've noticed is that when I say the word 'water', I pronounce it 'warter' like all the other Missourians. LOL I didn't used to.
When referring to that illustrious local uni, do you say, “Warsh U?”

All the best people do. I'm OK with warter or warsh or even highway farty-far, but Missourah seems a bridge too far. And ar bridges are mostly a truck with a poor alignment away from crashing into a river, so there's that.

Wow, yes, she is a long-time poster. Hasn't posted since late October.
