This is indeed sad. She was a true friend and we shared many of our life's experiences privately. She was one special lady. Maybe CD now will see fit to invent that Blue Trivet she always wanted.

So Sad! NWV was really a special lady. So friendly and always kind to speak to. I'm with nomad, she deserves a special honor. Thank you Beretta for posting this info as she meant a lot to many of us here.

A lot of former regulars from 5 years ago in the Weather Forum no longer (or barely, if any) post these days. Given the significant proportion of younger millennials (even early Gen Z) in that forum, I would like to create a Discord server for the weather forum members, but again, the former regulars are no longer as active today...

I recently found the reddit account of one former regular though, and it seems like he is quite active there... don't know about the others...

I'm missing them more and more. I sometimes look down my friends list, then delve a bit deeper, and find friends that haven't posted for years now. I'm left wondering, and hoping they are okay, but feeling sad about losing them. I used to have a great group of friends on here, (not that those that I still have are not great), but the numbers are dwindling.

It's all quite sad really.

It lives! I remember ruralchick and DallasKitty. A woman who hasn't posted in years just came back to the Northeastern PA forum. She stopped posting when she was going through a very difficult time. If you choose the right forum, that's when you should post more. There are some very nice and helpful people here.

Sometimes my feelings are a bit hurt when someone goes out of their way to say something rude or mean to me. They had to type that nasty comment. They thought about it--probably checked grammar and punctuation. I posted about that the other day.

I'm usually pretty nice, but there is a line. When someone crosses that line, I'm never quite sure what I'm going to do. Some of my posts are...no longer here.

I'm not terribly familiar with the Northern English dialect, but I would understand (maybe) what he said and know what he meant.

Q ueer wasn't a 'dirty' word years ago. I had a cousin named Gay.

Mine fields and a changing political landscape. PC is tiring.
PC is tiring lol. Right on to the bolded part above. A lot of my posts are no longer here as well as personalities. City-Data has been my home for a long time even though I don't post much I do read and follow certain threads. It's a great place to talk, vent, explain, entertain.....anonymously.

Maybe we can start a "Some of My Posts are No Longer Here" club. Naw, that would take too much effort.

Thanks for the laugh.

Default MidwesternBookWorm

Hi everyone,

I used to be a regular poster on the Madison, WI forum. There was a member who always provided the most thoughtful, carefully researched answers. She was a member and a moderator for years. Then she disappeared. I'd like to get in touch with her again.

Anyone know her IRL?

Megan
