I probably won’t be around much longer though as my cancer seems determined to get the best of me. When I drop out, that will be the reason why and I’ve really valued all the interesting discussions I’ve had on here with y’all lovely folks.
hugs. I am very sorry. I appreciate all your posts, I am a big fan of you.
I wonder what happened to some of the people I used to post on my local forum when I started posting here.
There’s a few - mostly “eternal members.” I know several folks who used to post more frequently that I’ve added on Facebook and such. One person had a complete career change and is no longer at a computer very often.
Oh, that name flicked a switch in my brain. Yup, his (I guess that poster was a he) posts were definitely filled with some crazy drama. I always looked forward to reading them while drinking my morning coffee, kind of like watching an online soap opera. Same thing with Lowonluck's posts, I hate to admit.
Then there was the woman dating a surgeon. THen for a bit, the person came back as the surgeon, except that he did not want to be a surgeon anymore and decided to be a chiropractor because he could make more money with that. They were entertaining. Now in the economics forum, we have the car salesman. Who knows, maybe he is the latest iteration of RetiredNow- got tired of being retired. I have to admit that people were really good at spotting RN. Sometimes it would just be one or two posts before he was spotted and banned.
I wonder what happened to Birdiebell. She was one of my favorite posters. Also Pippyskiddles, she was fun!
Another that comes to mind was RetiredNow, every day a new crazy drama and username!
Oh, RetiredNow shows up every now and again. He tries! His usernames, cadence, and way of phrasing is pretty distinct. I alway keep a lookout for him, like someone else said, he’s entertaining.
A couple of people mentioned LondonCowboy, yes I miss him too! He was so sweet. I hope he’s found the love of his life and is living somewhere peaceful and happy.
What happened to the women in Arizona who was working as a cashier at Walmart in her 70's (or her late 60's) but quit rather suddenly due to a broken bone, I think, and then advancing COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) and rented a room or two to roommates in her house who she had trouble with? (after her adult daughter moved out)
I remember AnonChick, she was smart as and funny too. Loved JustJulia as well.
Anyone remember txtqueen? She was a trip and a half. Never took anyone’s advice.
Txtqueen shows up every 2 years or so. I remember initially feeling sympathetic because we are roughly the same age and both started posting right in the recession years. It felt like a particularly difficult time to come of age and at first I thought people didn't get it. Then I got cancer and she almost killed someone when she bent over while driving to pick up her phone and ran a red light, and our trajectories totally diverged. If I remember correctly, she had a lot of help from family and yet seemed to squander it at every turn. Last she was posting, she was driving around the country with her boyfriend transporting dogs. Good luck to her.
