i have a hubby and kids but they will be gone for a week right after christmas so i'll be alone for 5 glorious days. i am excited about it and planning what i'm going to eat every day without having to think about what 5 other people also want to eat. i swear i'm not going to wash dishes or do laundry for that entire week!

To me it's turned into another Sunday except with the stores closed. Looks like I'll be alone this year as my relatives(who don't live really close by) are doing their own thing, which is fine. I can eat what I wanna and just chill w/o taking 4 different buses to my destination that run on a Sunday schedule.

Read, read, read...me too. Bought plenty of used books for the holidays.

Enjoy, rr!
Thank you. I love to read. Most of my spare time is spent reading either books, magazines, or stuff on the internet.

Hey, that pizza cost me over $30! Of course, I get the gargantuan pizza with all the toppings. (and I eat the whole thing, too - don't tell anyone).

Give to the toy drive or support a family for Christmas.
Good to know. I thought I was the only one. Well, my girlfriend has a 4 year old nephew and we'll get to see him open gifts tomorrow, so there's that.

Why would an adult think they're supposed to feel 'excited' about Christmas?

Or even absolutely be interested in Christmas?

As an adult, thinking one is supposed to feel 'excited' about Christmas is absurd.

ok.
we will play.
this is our first year after both sets of parents (grandparents) have died.
everyone in my family has grandchildren so the GP's will go to the GC's.
(it so much easier for grandparents to go the grandchildren)
bottom line: it is us, our dog, with our only child and his girlfriend.
i do not "feel excited" other than anticipating the NEW girlfriend.
but my wife is as excited as an 8-year-old girl.

I'm not seeing anyone but I live with my mom and younger brother. I work Christmas Eve, but I'll be home Christmas Day. I'll be at home by myself for a few hours, I usually enjoy my alone time. My mom and little brother will be at my Grand mother's house. I don't plan on seeing anyone but my immediate family. It'll be just like every other year. Nothing special.

This is a thread about those of us ALONE on the holidays.

But you have a pleasant time with your family.....I'm glad your wife is excited.....
