I come from Northern Europe and I find Americans very friendly. The only complaint I have is they generally seem to have very short attention spans. Or maybe it is just a communication style in this area. NoVa is full of transplants and I feel like everyone is constantly super busy with their lives. It is tough to get around in a reasonable time when traffic is as terrible as here. So I would give it some time. I have befriended some really nice people here, mostly immigrants.

That is so true Hal. The heat is intolerable, humidity especially. I actually only shower twice a year - on summer solstice and winter solstice.

That is so true Hal. The heat is intolerable, humidity especially. I actually only shower twice a year - on summer solstice and winter solstice.
