I suppose it will take some getting used to the OK City grocery stores as well. I ended up stopping in a Wal Mart Neighborhood store as that was the only thing I could find; it was by far the cleanliest grocery store I've seen in OK City; but I've never really shopped at Wal Mart. The Buy For Less which I believe used to be Grider's (there was on the south side I went to a few times) didn't impress me.

Hopefully with more people moving to OK City from around the country, the situation will improve.
If you move to Edmond or NW OKC in the area of Hefner and Rockwell, shop at Crest. the best in the metro thus far.

SuperTarget on Memorial Rd and Pennsylvania isn't bad either.

If you move to the south side of OKC near SW 104th, shop at the new Crest Fresh Market. It opens in June.

I did not have the time to read through all the posts, so this may have already been mentioned, but everyone in Oklahoma has access to the Oklahoma Food Co-op. www.oklahomafood.coop . Everything for sale is produced in the state and you can find everything from steaks to garden seed. There are also non-food products for purchase on there. I would highly reccommend checking it out if you haven't as it's a great way to support our local farms and get quality food at the same time

There is a small Italian market in McAlester, OK if you ever travel through there called Lovera's. In my experience though, catching them open is equivalent to winning the lottery. Many local grocery stores carry their items though. I just found a restaurant/small market online called Mediterranean Imports and Deli in OKC. I have not been yet, but we're going today! I would really be interested in finding a little tienda in OKC like in my hometown than not only had grocery, but a nice old lady who made cow's tongue tacos...mhmm!

I was driving south on the Broadway Extension yesterday and I passed an HEB truck headed north, at about Hefner. At first I thought I was seeing things, but no, I looked in my mirror, and sure enough it was an HEB truck. Don't know where he was going, but I wanted to turn around and chase him down.

Food is food. You eat it, then you poop it out. Don't understand why newcomers to Oklahoma always have to complain. If things were so great where you came from maybe you should think about going back to where you were. I'm spend 3 months out of the year in OKC. Been doing that for 20 years. Buy every single one of my groceries at WalMart or Crest. I have not seen one single thing that a high dollar market has that was any better then WalMart. Cept for higher prices. Quit complaining!!!

My taste isn't THAT lacking literally. The crest out near the airport had quality foods, but I am really looking for whole foods. While their prices are absurdly high, they do have certain standards that few other grocery store has. Sometimes One wants quality (whole foods, trader joes, ect) over quantity (supertargets, homeland, walmart), however I agree somewhat, most groceries can be found cheaper at lower standard stores.

This is why many want HEB. They offer both, high quality, along with junk like oreos, and tons better selection at prices comparable to Wally World.

My daughter works at the Whole Foods store in Kansas City, Kansas and it is a very nice store but very pricey. We will have more selection of items then we have at these so called grocery stores here in Oklahoma City. I hope Oklahoma City doesn't mess this store up. If Whole Foods shows it is very popular here in Oklahoma City, maybe some other big name stores will come. Let's hope!!!!!

Tulsa's Whole Foods is a nice store. Looks like other whole foods and I have been to quite a few. I am really looking forward to OKC's Whole Foods!
