We love it so much we just bought a home here. We also have a 7yr old daughter who is a princess and attends Whispering oaks elementary which is the school closest to Stoneybrook west. We are very happy with the school. It is only 3/4 yrs old and is already rated very highly. Windermere is beautiful but very expensive. Stoneybrook is nice as its gated and has a golf course but i would recommend a couple of other communities. Where we are we are approx a 5 min drive from Disney's Magic Kingdom. We see the fireworks at night and use our annual tickets most weekends. YES....our daughter thinks she is a princess.

If your interested in seeing the areas i would be happy to show you around. You will have to let me know when you will be here so we can set up a play date and get the disney princess's together...lol

If you need any additional help or info let me know

Nick

We currently live in the UK, and are re locating to Orlando at the end of this year. We have a little girl 7 years old, and a little boy who will be 5. We would like to rent initially to confirm that we like the area and then buy in 12 months. Coming from the UK, and the chilkdren attending a top school in the UK, are major specification is a really school school. We have been advised that Windermere, Celebration and Dr Phillips have the best schools, and the nicest houses. Are there rental properties sround these areas?
Is there anywhere else you can suggest?

Default Windermere has unbelievable bargains

Hello
Windermere has great bargains now due to he economic problems. On Lake Butler Sound for example you could not buy a house for under $1,000,000 a couple of years ago, now you can get on there for $600.000. Winter Garden and Ocoee are the poor mans Windermere bit still OK if you like that kind of thing.

Default Independence

They are almost giving away homes on Summerport and Independence, if you want to really live in either place, this is the time to buy.

Stoneybrook is in Winter Garden about 15-20 minutes east of Clermont.

We live in the Clermont area and love it. Winter Garden is an area we go to pretty often though, It is a nice area. I prefer Clermont to it though, I really like the houses in Clermont between Hancock and 27, north of 50 -- And Minneola. You may want to look into this area as well, houses are going a good price right now.

The downside is expect at least a 20 min drive to go ANYWHERE except Disney Cast parking, a lot of speeding on Reams and 535. You CAN take a toll to Apopka but it will get expensive.
The plus side.. not as much tourism out that way until you go back down to Palm Parkway.
The further out you go the more suburban it gets (Indepdence).
Independence seems like another "celebration" without signing your life away to Disney.

The schools are better there than most of Orange County. Windermere is more of a good ol' boy network and could use some diversity.
Sunset Park has more diversity because of the low income families from the adjacent complexes that go to school there. The PTA is more diverse at Sunset Park. It's also newer and looks great!

Hope this helps. Best of luck on your move.

FYI be cautious on 535 and Reams as there is excessive speeding, and police are doing crack downs.
