It sounds like we need to pass another stimulus bill to rebuild Haiti .

Haiti earthquake: Plan would send Haiti earthquake survivors to Orlando - OrlandoSentinel.com
I don't have an issue with it. The Haitians are going to have to move somewhere and they're better off living in a climate more similar to what they're used to,a state like Florida. I can't think of why someone would want to remain in that dump. Lots of mudslides, horrible government, violence, and now earthquakes.

All it would lead to if we have in influx of Haitian nationals into Florida is higher taxes. Higher taxes to pay for the social programs to support them (they'd end up getting free health care while millions of US citizens go without), to educate their anchor babies, and to pay for the additional police presence needed due to their gangs that will certainly accompany them. Let them stay in Haiti and work with them towards rebuilding their country.

Don't they have their own country. Why is it our job to pay for and help everybody all over the world. Why don't we take care of our own people first. If I'm not mistaken New Orleans is still a big mess, what about those folks. That all sounds good on your statement but who is going to pay for all that. They are not highly educated so we pay for that, housing, food stamps, not to mention jobs, which we already don't seem to have any of. Our own children can't afford college here but you can bet we will pay for these folks. Thats why things are already so out of control, we give out money all over the world instead of taking care of our own first and foremost, like many of the other countries do. I really do get sick and tired of it. I have no problem helping by sending food, rescues whatever but we should not be financing everybody, ultimately we will all pay for this in some form or fashion and that's a fact.

That's what I'm afraid of too. With all this attention and chaos, are they going to try to get here anyway? That's making me a bit nervous.

I don't watch Faux news, in fact about the only thing I watch on Fox is the Simpsons every now and then when I want some mindless diversion.

It's just common sense to think that any immigrant coming to this country with no ability to speak the language and an utter lack of education is going to be a drain on our society. I don't care if they are from Sweden, Japan or Haiti, it has nothing to do with race, it's basic economics. Persons that enter this country with refugee status receive a boatload of benefits--everything from free housing to food stamps to medicaid to education. In fact refugees receive more benefits than our own citizens who are struggling with unemployment. And who will pay for that? The taxpayers of the United States of America. That's who.
