Hi, kids! Many thanks to elnina for filling in with the weekend
Tip! Speaking of which ....... Today's Tip comes from Dark of
the Moon. (Thanks, Dark!) Scroll on down and check it out.

PEEL YOUR BUTTER!

DOTM's words:

When you're faced with a difficult-to-slice stick of butter, or you just
want a little bit, take a vegetable peeler and run the blade across the
butter's surface.

You'll get a nice, thin curl of butter, which will melt quickly on your food.
Yum!

Great tip as I always keep my butter/margarine in the refrigerator. Since I hate fighting with the stick of butter, I just purchase the tubs as I rarely need more than a dab of butter at a time and sticks are prone to going moldy ... I'd definitely would keep this tip in mind in case I ever decided to go back to sticks.

Curly butter...could I have some curly fries with that. I usually scrape hard butter with a knife as it will soften quicker. But the potato peeler or cheese shaver comes in handy. Great ideas Pam and Dark thanks!

Great tip!

Anyone remember the little "butter keepers" in the doors of refrigerators?

Ours had a seperate temperature setting.....so you could keep the stick butter spreadable.

My Mom kept her old refrigerator until she died because the new ones didn't have the "butter keeper". My Dad HAD to have his REAL butter!
